- move from your computer to the next one, fill in the
answers
- repeat first steps and create a new table for the next person
- keep repeating this sequence until allotted time is up (15- 20 minutes)
Session Two etc
Extension on this activity is at first for student to fill in the whole
number, then they can move into writing the expanded form.
Further extension of computer skills is formatting the table and changing
Fonts, style and size or adding colours to the Title bar. It is a good
idea at this stage to encourage students to always have the Table toolbar
open. Go to View-Toolbars-Tables and Borders. Teach them how to drag this
up to the main toolbars at the top of the page so that is available with
all the rest of the tools.
Assessment Task:
This whole lesson is the assessment task for both creating tables and
demonstrating understanding of Place Value. Students can do it in pairs,
reading the numbers out and explaining to their partners the meaning
of the digits |
