Daniel has asked when are you going to get some MYST hints, so here is your first clue

How many Marker switches are there? It is a number between 6 and 10. The number has 5 letters in it including the letter e and g. And by the way David, you were correct!!!

Shashi has found the official Myst Website. Well done!

Hi Rebelene, thanks for your email!

Hi Renu, thanks for your email!

Thanks for the hints Jonathon!

Renu, check your email and answer those questions and then I will be able to help you

*********Today's Special Message***********

Hi Room 18. Here are some more hints

Don't forget you have to get a red and a blue page from each Age, but you can't pick them both up at the same time, which means you have to leave, go to Myst and come back to get the next page

The Selentic Age: The sounds you need to become familiar with are water, fire, clock, crystal and wind

Archived Special Messages

Channelwood Age: Once you have gone up the elevator you need to find something to switch on then you need to go down again before you can go up (but not up the elevator!). Don't forget to look at the hints in the menu bar. I was finding Channelwood difficult to do until I turned up the screen brightness. It is quite a dark land and you will miss quite a lot if you can't see it properly. There are 3 elevators that you eventually have to go in. Each time you go in an elevator you need to set the switches to run the water in the direction of the elevator.

The Selentic Age: You need to have the sound up for this age as you have to listen carefully. Sounds are the clues!!!

Mechanical Age: You need to go up another elevator to rotate the tower so that you can get to the other little islands of this main island. There are some secret codes that you will need to record when you reach those little islands. See map

Stoneship Age: You must look through the telescope and find out where the lighthouse is. (Is there anything you can record here? You may need that information for a hidden room) In the corridors leading to the rooms look carefully as you go down them, there may be another room on the way! Click here for the Map

Channelwood Age: What does a windmill need to make it work. Maybe you need to turn on something! Click here for the Map

Mechanical age hints:
If you can't find the pages, look very carefully around the thrones.
When using the Rotation controls, you need to move the left one 1 notch and push the other lever all the way for a few seconds, bring both controls back to the beginning, you should hear the tower rotate
Stoneship age:
There are 3 buttons under the umbrella, the left button drains the ship, the middle drains the rock, the right drains the lighthouse.
You must always have light so you will need to do something in the lighthouse frequently. Good luck!

Good morning Room 18! Has anybody realised that you can't pick up both the red and blue papers together? You need to take them back to MYST Island and deliver them to the red and blue books. So what do you think this means. Email me and let me know. The Mechanical age relies on Rotating Towers just as MYST does.

Hint: open another game (not your saved one) and go to the Library and read carefully the book that relates to the Mechanical Age, it may help you. Don't forget to record all clues!

Some people have made it to the Mechanical Age but are a little confused as to what to do. You need to find the red and blue pages and take them back to the Main Island of MYST. Study the map carefully, the clue is there as to how to get back. Email me if you have found the answer or if you are still in trouble.
Don't forget to keep writing down clues, some of those clues might not make any sense until later on.
Good luck and I will see you on Wednesday when we are going to start thinking about what mystical game we can make ourselves. Remember, your mission is to find the 4 linking books, one at a time. Travel through the books to the other land, collect the missing pages, find the MYST book to take you back to the Main Island and give the missing pages back to the Books.
REMEMBER THE TOWER ROTATION IN THE LIBRARY. Before finding a linking book you MUST go to the map in the library, rotate the tower, go to both ladders (the book and the key) and then go and find the linking book.

(Jonathon, could you please copy these instructions in large font size and staple it onto the MYST wall display)

Some people were not able to access the Mechanical Age Map. Click here to see it, print it out
