| you must have the graphic selected before you can make any changes to it | |
| if you are using Word 2000 or later you need to have the Picture toolbar

select Edit Wrap points or Tight![]() | |
| now go to Draw - Ungroup | |
you may see a few Handles or you may see thousands![]() | |
| if there are a lot you might need to change your mind about using that graphic as it is going to take a long time to make changes | |
making your page view bigger helps when
you are re-colouring and re-grouping | |
| you might find that the graphic looks better without some of the parts, you don't have to use all of the parts | |

| to regroup the graphic, click on the White arrow in the Draw toolbar |

| imagine the graphic is in a box, click at the top left hand of the box and drag on a diagonal to the bottom right of the box. The graphic will appear with lots of handles | |
| go to Draw -Group | |
| your graphic will now move as one whole graphic again |
