CI, The road to Curriculum Integration There are several stages teachers can go through before they are fully integrating ICT into all curriculum areas resulting in a child centred environment. Some of these stages could comprise of a complete change in teaching style. This course will enable you to identify where you are on the Curriculum Integration scale and establish what you need to do to further develop yourself as an ICT literate classroom practitioner. Participants will see examples of teaching and learning at the different stages and collect a bank of activities, ideas and management techniques that can be used back in the class. This course is suitable for all levels. |

Digital portfolios are a digitized cumulative assessment of an individual’s ability displaying a wide range of work. Using a variety of digital tools and software develop a template that can be used in your classroom to show case student achievement. Discover how digital portfolios can be created for your student and school needs.
Integrate Higher Order Thinking and ICT by looking at the software that can be used to develop and organise thinking skills and processes through using a myriad of graphic organisers. See how ICT can be used with Revised Blooms Taxonomy and Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences and how complex ideas can be communicated through the use of software. Use this new information to develop a unit of work that can be used in the classroom.
Have you looked for a suitable Webquest on the internet and found that they are not quite what you are looking for or are not entirely appropriate? Then create your own from scratch! Come to this course knowing what you would like to make a Webquest about, bring any available resources online, digital or non-digital and then work through developing the Webquest right from the beginning to the end.

Know the basics
in PowerPoint or just starting out? This course will take you through from the
first setting up of PowerPoint slideshow to all the bells and whistles that will
tastefully enhance your presentations. Learn how to hyperlink to other
programmes and the internet. Use your school cameras to insert photos and movies
into a dynamic slideshow. Prepare a presentation that you can use back in your
classroom.

Teacher aides participate in a hands on course determining how to work with children when using computers. Use the programmes children work on in the classroom and find out how to help them when they have difficulties. Learn how to operate the school camera and how it can be used with children and computers.

Using software such as Kidspiration, KidPix, Word or PowerPoint can enhance your literacy programme and give students another choice of how to develop new ideas. In this course you can create Writing and Reading activities for the classroom and experiment with WordProcessing and multimedia software to see how it can be used in the literacy Programme.

Your computer is sitting on a desk in your classroom. It is not really part of your classroom…yet! This course will give you ideas of how to set up an ICT centre that can become an essential learning area for your students. You will see how to organise the physical layout of the area, identify starting points, develop management techniques, look at what programmes are available and establish a keyboarding programme for your students.

Learn how to use MovieMaker, Media Player and digital photo editing software to make digital story books, movies and interactive activities using your Windows computer or laptop in your classroom. This course will show you how to use the software and integrate it together into Moviemaker to make an original film that showcases all of your and your students’ talent. Requirements: Bring your own laptop, digital camera or/and digital video camera and leads, music CDs, photos and video footage. Please ensure that you have the latest version of the software and any digital camera software loaded.
