Computer Rules for the Classroom

It is necessary to have some computer rules for the classroom. These can be decided on collaboratively, agreed upon and then all the class can sign this Computer Use Agreement. If anybody dares break any of the rules they can then be directed back to the agreement they signed and retribution can then be discussed!

Here are some suggestions that teachers have come up with in my courses and ones I have discovered in my own travels.  Thanks to all who have contributed.

don’t make any changes to how the computer desktop looks without the whole class consent
only the group assigned to the computer should be there
work co-operatively and collaboratively
everybody has their own role they must keep to
don’t take the mouse off the computer operator
don't forget to record the time spent on the computer (or in the ICT Centre
do not have food or drink anywhere around the computer
respect the equipment (remember it cost a lot of money)
spend only 15 minutes at the computer (if you don’t finish you will have to wait until it is your turn again)
return all CDs to their own jewel case
keep computer centre clear of clutter and unnecessary items
don’t bring any software from home and install it on our computer ( it is against the law!)
please don't ride the chairs!

If you have any other suggestions email info@jsharp.co.nz and I will include them in this list
