Situation/Setting the Scene:

Our school has not got an official cross country uniform.

Design Brief:

Create a sports item of clothing for cross country that represents something about our school.

Specification:

·          Must be made out of fabric

·          Must be easy to wear and sturdy

·          Use environmental materials

Learning Experiences: (examine, identify, discuss, collect, observe, compare, read, describe)

·          What do we know chart (brainstorm using Inspiration and Kidspiration) Fill in the KWLH Chart in folder.

·          Look at past uniforms eg: Commonwealth, Olympic games

·          Students to assemble and examine a range of sports clothing and identify and record features which enable each product to function effectively.

·          Look at components assembled in clothing. eg: How garments are made and designed. What makes it effective and practical for cross country?

·          Identify logos and what they mean, share how they communicate information. Produce a mindmap that illustrates how and why logos promote a message

·          Research with relevant people, factors that influence selections of suitable clothing. Read and collect from other resources that will assist you in furthering your investigation.
