Technological Knowledge and Understanding
Objective:
Objective: Level 1:4 share ideas about some ways in which familiar technological developments are communicated
Learning Experiences:

Learning Experiences:
bullet What sort of weather happens in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter Kidspiration file ‘Seasons’
bullet What should I wear today Kidspiration file
bullet Verbalise what the weather conditions are for that day and describe what sort of clothes should be worn on that day and why
bullet Observe weather patterns by reading thermometers, measuring rain and identifying wind speed according to Beaumont scale
bullet Make predictions about the weather

Identify symbols that are used for weather reports and discuss how they are used to communicate what the weather is    Assess

Technological Capability
Objective: Level 1:6a share ideas about possible solutions and strategies, and choose a practicable option
Level 2:6a discuss possible solutions and strategies, and select and develop a suitable option

Learning Experiences:
bullet Decide as a class how you would like to record and report the weather everyday    Assess
bullet Collect resources
bullet Formulate plan for reporting weather
bullet Design and make weather calendar
bullet Evaluate according to student feedback

Technology and Society
Objective: Level 1:8 share ideas about the ways in which familiar technologies affect their lives
Objective: Level 2:8 explore and compare the roles of some example of technology in daily life in their own and in other time and place
Learning Experiences:
bullet Ask adults questions about how knowing what the weather is going to be like is important for certain events
bullet Investigate what methods of weather reporting people use, make a graph to display the results, compare this information to ways their ancestors may have found out weather information
