Situation: Children are getting burnt at playtime and lunchtime, sunscreens are not offering enough protection
Design Brief: Design a Sun Protector that children will want to wear
Specifications: - must protect the face, necks, ears and nose
- mockup must be made in cartridge
- must be lightweight
Technological Knowledge and Understanding
Objective: Level 1:2a ask questions and share ideas about modifications in familiar technologies
Learning Experiences:

1. children bring examples of sun protectors from home
2. identify examples of sun protectors from magazines
3. identify and record positive features of sun protectors
4. make a comparison chart on significant features found in sun protectors

Objective: Level 1:6d describe and discuss how they feel about what they have accomplished
Learning Experiences:

1. develop a plan and make mock-up
2. test and evaluate
