Click on the Trades site at the British Museum. There are three tasks to complete. Read all the tasks first because you will use the table below for both Task One and Two.
Read the story of How difficult life could be for a craftsman. Listed below are the names of the jobs or trades the ancient Egyptians worked at. Identify some of the tools they used and write bulleted description points of how they did the particular trade. You can handwrite it in the table below or you could make your own table by following these instructions. You might have to use the pictures as well as the text for clues.
| Trade Name | Tools used | Description of trade | ||||||||||
| Metal Worker |
| The Carpenter |
| The Jeweller |
| The Barber |
In task two you can explore a jewellers shop and a carpenters workshop. Be patient as the graphics do take a few seconds to download. Add to the table above any new things you have learnt about jewellers and carpenters.
Click on the Challenge task. You will need to have Shockwave. Once you have finished the challenge you should be able to answer these questions.
